30th of December 2018

Dear Branch chiefs, Dojo operators, members and friends

Another year has passed. 2018 was remarkable. Beginning of the year we open new Honbu Dojo of our organisation. In the month of April, I introduced a new Kyokushin Karate organisation in which currently has 10 countries affiliated and started a strong and a stabilised journey.
Kyokushin Budo Karate Shakai follow our founder and great teacher Sosai Masutatsu Oyama’s true way of Budo Karate philosophy and the purpose of the establishment is to pass it to the next generation with pure intentions.

We established new branches in the England, Netherlands, Brazil, USA, Pakistan and Russia after establishing a new organisation. Some Instructors from England and Netherlands came to the examination and trained with us. Also, I am happy to see the Dojos in Nepal, India and Sri Lanka are developing and showing great progress. I sincerely thank them for believing in our organisation and becoming part of our Kyokushin family.

Kyokushin Cup 2018 All UK Open was the most difficult event that was organised recently because the tournament was organised by less number of staff. However, with the help of everyone we were able to make this a success. Again, I want to thank all participants and instructors for being here.

In 2019, we will be organising a new Championship for juniors and Youth, Kata seminar and Dan examination. Please visit our website to view the annual schedule for 2019. Additionally, we are planning a trip to Japan for training with our members in the month of June. We also invite others who want to get this experience in Japan.

One of the most important events in next year is organising the 6th edition of Kyokushin Cup. We are hoping to make this tournament a success by understanding the mistakes from the last one. We welcome participants from every organisation to attend our championship
we are hoping to cooperate with other organisation events as much as we can in the New Year. I am sure that we all look forward to creating more memories together in 2019. I kindly ask everyone to train and work hard to build a strong mind, body and spirit of Karate.

I would like to express my gratitude to all Branch chiefs, Dojo operators and members for your kind care and support this year.

I send wishes to all of you for blessings, healthily and prosperity in the New Year.

Osu!

Yours sincerely,
Shihan Prasanna Fernando
