Dear Branch chiefs, families, and all members
I hope you and your family are in good health.
Overall, 2024 has seen some progress in our activities. This includes our students from many Dojos participating in other championships and their championships, conducting Kyu/Dan gradings in their countries, and organizing seminars and workshops with students. This year, new branch chiefs from Cuba, Canada, Russia, and India have also become affiliated with SBKR. Our West Bengal branch, India has made a great contribution by organizing the 3rd International Seminar this year. It will also be special to have Sensei Prithish Mukherjee and Sensei Bhaskar Mishra from India come to the UK for training this year at our Honbu. I am very happy that Sensei Prithish will be able to share the knowledge he has gained with his students by training with me in Japan Sosai Oyama’s original Honbu Dojo in Tokyo in September.
Thus, you all have my respect and gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our instructors in their dojos/countries in general.
I am looking forward to seeing our 1st World Cup being held in Brazil in October 2025. I greatly appreciate the commitment of our Sensei Paulo Souza our branch chief to make this a challenging task. It is my hope and expectation that all SBKR countries will participate with their talented students. I urge all branch chiefs to actively participate in the World Cup from now on.
We are currently preparing to host our 9th ALL UK Open Karate Tournament on 6th April 2025 and would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your students to participate.
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all branch chiefs, their assistant Instructors, and students for their hard work and support in promoting SBKR this year. I also greatly appreciate the generous support of SBKR Secretary Ben Fletcher and our UK committee members, students, supporters as well as International Committee members as volunteers. Thank you everyone!
I am eagerly waiting to meet and train with you and your students in the year 2025.
